Our Philosophy
TransMED is an exciting new concept in mobility and community for older adults. We're a company dedicated to enabling older adults to have a more connected, fulfilling, dignified and independent lifestyle even after their "driving retirement". At TransMED we believe that our community's older adults should have access to transportation, accompaniment and interaction that allows them not only to thrive in their everyday activities, but also to continue to engage with and explore their local community. We are committed to providing services to support this mission.
Being a mission-driven company means that all company decisions are made in support of our stated mission and passed through the filter of our company values. As such, every decision we make, from what car we drive, to whom we hire is made with these key principles in mind. While many businesses are only concerned about maximizing profit, TransMED measures social impact on the community as a key metric of success.
TransMED was established to support the direct needs of older adults, their children (both local and those who live a distance away), caregivers, and senior facilities looking for senior-focused and senior-friendly services in their community. Our model is that all clients are members of the TransMED community, through which they can meet, travel and socialize with their peers.

Our Vehicles
Some of the features of these new vans include:
- Rear entry design allows for easy loading and unloading of passengers who use mobility devices
- ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and D409 compliant and provide direct, unencumbered access to a forward-facing position
- Lower floor [9-12”] for easy access. This gives plenty of headroom and provides all passengers with an eye-level view of the outside surroundings. As well, the lower center of gravity allows the vehicle to retain the original factory handling and driving characteristics
All wheelchair/stretcher vans are licensed by the State of Florida and County of Volusia and meet or exceed all local, state and federal regulations.
These vans are used to transport clients to and from the following:
- Doctor Appointments
- Dialysis Clinics
- Radiation Clinics
- Out Patient Tests and Procedures
- Hospital to Residence, Nursing Home, and/or
- Rehabilitation
- Any other medical destination not listed above
- Special requests to other destination handled on a case by case basis

Our Services
Door Through Door: TransMED provides flexible transportation options to meet the needs of our clients. Our transportation is provided with door-through-door service whereby our Driver Escorts provide assistance from the inside of the home to the inside of the awaiting TransMED luxury cruiser. and then from the vehicle to the entry of the destination.
Cashless Transactions (optional): All pricing is quoted in advance and once completed, trips are automatically billed to a credit card on file or deducted from a pre-paid balance. Our Driver Escorts don't accept tips, so there is never a need to carry cash.
Safety: All TransMED Driver Escorts have clean DMV driving records and have gone through extensive background checks prior to beginning service with TransMED. All Driver Escorts are finger printed and reference checked. They are also part of a pre-employment & random drug testing program.
Our Staff
Driver Escorts: All TransMED transportation services are provided by our Driver Escorts who have a passion for older adults and who are trained to provide a punctual, courteous, and enjoyable travel experience. Enjoy TransMED's exclusive "Door Through Door" service, whereby our Driver Escorts provide assistance from the inside of the home to the inside of the awaiting vehicle and then from the vehicle to the entry of the destination. Our Driver Escorts are trained in customer service as well as wheelchair, stretcher securement and receive our Older Adult Training Programs to continually improve their skills.
Transportation & Accompaniment Services
TransMED provides one way, round-trip or multi-stop rides. Our transportation is provided by our Driver Escorts in a TransMED luxury cruiser.

We are very excited to announce that TransMED now supports airport rides! This has been one of our most demanded services, and now we can officially service Daytona Beach, Orlando & Sanford International Airports with curbside assistance. We can also pick-up friends and family for you. Let TransMED help take some of the stress out of travel.
Notice: 24-hour advance notice is requested.
Accompaniment: Accompaniment is an additional service whereby our Driver Escorts accompany the client during an appointment or activity. All rides include basic door through door assistance.
Prices: Ride prices are quoted in advance based on distance traveled, time of day and accompaniment preference.
Payment: Once completed, trips are automatically billed to a credit card on file or deducted from a pre-paid balance
Riders: Transportation is provided on an individual basis. However, clients are welcome to travel with one caregiver, spouse, family member or friend free of charge, providing that both passengers start and end at the same address.
